IMAG
Consulting Pty Ltd (IMAG) is an independent agricultural consulting
firm based
in Dubbo, in the central west of New South Wales. Founded in
2003, the company invests significant resources in the fields of
dryland agronomy and agribusiness planning and management. The
Directors both have long associations with agriculture and are
committed to being active participants in the exciting and challenging
future years. Being completely independent of any product sales,
IMAG is able to give focussed, unbiased advice that can be guaranteed
to be in the best interests of your business. We are also heavily
involved with industry groups such as Pulse Australia, and conduct
extension work for the GRDC.
What services do we offer?
Our
Crop
Management Service currently services in excess of 30,000ha
and is growing
every year. We provide advice on crop rotations, varieties,
fertilisers,
as well as weed, insect and disease control. Our in-crop and
fallow
monitoring throughout the year assists our clients in timely decision
making
and maximising their returns. For more information, click

To
complement the Crop Management Service, IMAG has developed a Precision
Agriculture package to enable clients to take the next step
in profit
maximisation. Clients are encouraged to collect yield maps
and these are
statistically analysed and combined with other available data such as
EM
surveys. Management zones are then drawn up and IMAG
agronomists then
conduct in-field analyses, such as segmented soil tests, to identify
yield-limiting factors. Click

Precision Agriculture process.
Farm
Business Planning is the first step for many of our clients
before they
begin their farming year. Using IMAG's custom built computer
model, clients
can examine all aspects of their business and see how they interrelate
and
affect the business as a whole. What happens to cash flow if
500 less
ewes were run and 300ha more crop were sown? How does this
affect your
risk exposure? Is sufficient labour available? Click

out more.
The first step we take
with new business planning clients is a review of historical
performance. A
Profit Trend Analysis
allows us to gain an understanding of past performance and what areas
may need improvement. This gives us a starting point for many
aspects of business planning. A more in-depth analysis of
business performance is the
Farm Business Analysis,
which examines individual enterprises within the business, as well as
overhead and finance costs. A good understanding of overall
financial efficiency and relative enterprise performance can be
achieved if this is performed over a number of years. The
most
powerful tool is comparative analysis via
Benchmarking.
This uses similar techniques to Farm Business Analysis but compares a
number of farms to each other, allowing the factors that allow the top
20% to succeed to be identified. To learn more about IMAG's
business analysis tools,

Many farming businesses quite rightly find obtaining additional finance
requirements and/or refinancing to be a highly complex
procedure.
IMAG's
Finance Assistance advice
firstly
determines the profitability and asset base of the business and what
type of finance facility would best suit the business.
Tenders
are then put out to suitable finance institutions inviting them offer a
suitable package. To find out more,
